The so-called crisis of capitalism is in my view a spiritual crisis. Humans should be god fearing, community living, nature connected beings. When we live in deep gratitude we have all we need. When we live with desire it is a state of deprivation = consumerism is a stress state.
When we live in tiny prisons we can become shut off from the world; vain, materialistic, deprived of the sense of reality, digitally obsessed TV addicts. The vast majority of us are unhealthy yet do not have a clear conception of what true health is. Is it time to free your mind from this paradigm?
I’ve been a Green Party member for many years. I believe that first-past-the-post is an undemocratic system which favours the minority in rural areas, areas which have higher standards of living and impose their views on urban dwellers, predominantly the youth who are stuck in the cities contributing most of the economic growth and paying for the pensions of those who outvote them. It’s time we had a real democracy - I vote green, the only party serious about electoral reform and prioritising the welfare of all living beings.
Follow the Dao.
Surrendering to the higher force is not an abstract concept - it is a real and very tangible practice.
Logical, western approach to life = I will do this, I will get x, I need Y, I should Z.
The concept of needs-based relating as a method for navigating life:
We tend to profit the most when we focus on the needs of others, those around us and the wider society.
E.g. you want to open a cafe. You go for it on the local high street. You may be successful if the street does need another. You will be much more likely to succeed if you focused on identifying the need in the community first. Needs of the consumer - this is business 101. Now, expand and apply this to your personal life.
By focusing on the needs of others; a brother who needs help with homework, helping a father with the business, offering a stranger a ride, a friend in need of an editor. By focusing on the needs of others, we take pressure off ourselves, gain a clear roadmap, a system for navigating choices, cultivating a higher state of mind, and all kinds of wonderful insights, gifts, connections, love.
When you start applying this philosophy to every moment you realise that life has created a perfect door in every moment.
Asking this question, “what does life want from me right now?” is the key to unlocking the flow state where life begins to work for you. Cease swimming upstream. Cease focusing your thoughts and directions on the ‘I decision-making process’ and start cultivating presence, tuning in with the moment, and allowing life to guide your journey. This process of gradual surrender into trust is the heart of faith, and the essential skill to truly flow with the Dao and achieve success in all areas of your life.
By focusing on these lessons your connection to source will become profound, and your vision and insight into the world around you will increase. You will also become magnetic, more loveable, and attract the right relationships. Of course, you have to balance this with your own needs, and that is called mastery. And there are also the forces of chaos and nature to contend with, so try not to blame everything on god, and keep your wits about you.
Following god outside of religion is a growing movement that I call neo-spiritualism. I offer this solution to the masses of people who have been put off religion for life. Do not miss out on connecting with the divine and your higher purpose in this lifetime because of a prejudice against archaic systems that have been perverted for control and allowed to perpetrate crimes against humanity. In their essence, they all contain parts of the truth which no one system should ever try to monopolise. Humanity has found many ways to worship the divine - in this age we are free to choose our own. Only do, do worship, do give thanks, do cultivate gratitude - it is an attitude and a practice more than anything, and in my view the practice of gratitude is the practice of acceptance, and is the true foundation of both mental and physical wellbeing.
Full alignment.
Full consent.
If you hate your job, talk to a careers counsellor and start your job search. If you are having relationship issues, it might be time to seek professional help and consider your options. Don’t stay in situations that betray your fundamental nature.
We must all practice full alignment and full consent if we are to save humanity, if we are to stop constantly betraying our hearts.
Speak your needs. Just say it out loud to whoever will listen. “I need X”. I don’t want to do ‘Y’. Keep stating your needs until you are brought into greater alignment. Allow the universe time to work, and listen and respond. Give and receive.
Listen to your heart. Listen to the tiny voice inside. That is your magnetic compass for tuning in to the Dao - it is picking up instructions from the master mind and trying to tell you what to do. Why it is so I cannot tell you, but it works like magic. And the more you experience of this magic, you will say, “these synchronicities are too much to be believed.” But when you live on the magic carpet you will simply nod your head and give thanks to God once more.
The revolution of consciousness is well underway, and I am only a small piece of this puzzle.
